Links: https://www.insauga.com/new-medical-school-will-make-brampton-a-university-town Don't know how I feel about this :/ If new residency spots are not created along with an increase in funding for more physician jobs then this would only cause more strain on future med students and grads. Are there going to be enough preceptors? William Osler health system already teaches both Mac and UofT students. Seems very saturated to open another med school less than 30 minutes away from 2 major medical schools. Also agree with above posters that this will add more strain on students during CaRMs. We’ll just end up with higher unmatch rates if there’s no additional funding for residency spots. Little tricks like these never gets old. shikimate Posted March 28, 2021 Report Share Posted March 28, 2021 Brampton is Patrick Brown's turf, back when PB tried to run for conservative leader someone dug up some dirt and him and he got screwed. So who knows what his relationship with the Ford conservative is. Ford probably still needs PB's support amongst the conservative base so gotta play jumping ropes like good friends once a while I guess. You won't see Ford supporting anything in Toronto because John Tory played snitch I believe back when he was running for conservatives then later defected or something. In any case Ford inherited the distaste of the downtown elite from his brother so not surprised YorkU has never been mentioned since Wynne's days.
