imz
Hi! I was wondering whether I should claim ECs or not because I'm applying based on my second degree in which I did much better (GPA-wise) while my extenuating circumstances pertain to my first bachelors. I was thinking I could explain what I learned from that time of my life and it would show how I improved GPA-wise from my first bachelors to my second bachelors. I don't know if it's just irrelevant seeing as I'm applying with my second degree? Anyone willing to give me some input on this would be much appreciated. Feel free to DM me btw - I understand this can be a personal/sensitive topic to share with others
offmychestplease
Dont draw attention to your first degree. Since you have the option of McGill only considering your second degree no point dwelling on the past by writing an EC letter since your improved marks would show (rather than you having to say) how you improved/changed things etc. imz, FutureYodaMD, ceelbe and 1 other

Elgar
If I remember correctly, there is also a section at the end of the work book to write additional stuff. I felt the need to add a few things there because I didn't have the most linear journey (mostly for my pre-degree-of-admission-life), but I never knew if it ever changed anything. If it relates to your 1st degree, I think you can put it there and ease your mind! imz
Vya
I was in the same situation and emailed admissions office - they said to only add an EC letter if it pertains to your basis of admission degree imz
