A family friend is driving me to Detroit on Sunday night, but I have to get back myself. Anyone have any suggestions on how to get back from Detroit, other than plane? Greyhound is the only thing I can think of.....

Apparently, Wayne State sent a letter about my interview a few weeks ago, but I didn't receive it. So they emailed me today about my interview to let me know that it is on this coming Monday....

 

OUCH!!! Guess it would be almost too late to get anything changed? If you can't, good luck on Monday!!!

If you take the tunnel bus from Detroit, it goes to the same station where you can take the greyhound. The VIA station in Windsor is actually not as accessible... I don't think there's a bus route near the station....

I received the "complete" email on August 3. I suppose if you were complete before this time, I would call to avoid being in this situation. Having to prepare for an interview in 5 days, along with academic commitments, is rather challenging...

 

If you were complete later, then I'd sit tight and wait for a bit. The admissions coordinator told me that my package may still arrive this week, so I'm assuming that they mailed out the package only a week or two ago??

So guys I need some advice. IU and Jefferson are now scheduled on the same date (mid october). IU can re-schedule me to February, Jefferson can schedule me to early December. Is pushing Jeff back to December a no-brainer? Even if I might prefer it to IU? I'm trying to gauge how bad it would be to push back my preferred school to december..... Help!

I would look at the interviewed/accepted rates at the two schools.

 

I know that (last year) Jeff had a very high accepted to interviewed ratio, almost 1 acceptance for every 2 interviewed. If this is not also the case at IU, I would change the Jefferson date knowing that as long as I have an interview at Jeff I have a very good shot at an acceptance (even if the date is "late" in the interview season).

 

If both schools have a high accepted:interviewed ratio I would make the IU date later, knowing that I'd rather attend Jefferson.

My advice: Don't push the school where you will have a better chance. If you think that you have an equal chance at both, push your less preferred one out.
