Hey all,

 

Thought I'd post this information for future incoming students. Accepted at Mac back in May, and will be joining in the fall.

 

- cGPA: 3.5; last two years, 3.8

- VR Score: 12

- pretty diverse ECs, ranging from significant work experience (trading desk of a top investment bank, hardware/software engineering, telecommunications), bioengineering R&D design (including provisional patent/VC-backed introduction to market), third world health care strategy consulting, published research, community volunteering, leadership positions.

- Drew on varied life experience for answering the ABS questions.

- Felt the interview went decent; again, drawing on varied life experience.

 

Interviewed at: Mac, Western.

 

Accepted at Mac, Western.

 

Still shocking and very humbling. Haven't posted much here, but I just wanted to offer my sincere support to those who are switching careers. Medicine will be a third career for me, after working on a trading desk (finance) and in engineering, and studying the latter in one of the more competitive programs in the country. Been a difficult path, but guess this shows that it can be done!
