Stethoscope Choice?

Hey everyone. Can someone tell me the name of the product McGill recommended to the incoming Class of 2023 for a stethoscope?

It's probably the cardiology 4 now.

To be honest, just as Samy said, any would do. A cheaper Littman Classic is more than enough.

Don't buy an expensive stethoscope. Don't buy what the school reccomends. Anything but the highest end Litman is the same as other midrange (and much cheaper) scopes.

Stethoscopes are already obsolete on the wards. By the time you enter residency and definitely by the time you finish residency ultrasound will likely become the new stethoscope.

But how will you be able to describe how late the AS crescendo peak is to your staff?!?!

Save your money and get the disposable one from the ED. Medical school is already expensive as it is.

As others have said, do not get an expensive one. You never know what specialty you will end up in. You may not even use a stethoscope regularly in your practice!

I got a Littmann Cardiology IV in all black. Really like it. You gotta show up your family med preceptor so don't get a Fisher-Price cheap one. 

Every one's right, these are osbolete, but you still need it for your bomb azz instagram pic so : p

Plus no matter how careful you are there is a high probability you will lose it at some point.

ha still am merely a student for 6 more months - medical training, it sure takes awhile

Agreed. Mostly useless. The few times it's useful, most basic ones are good enough. Only reason to take it more seriously is if your specialty demands it.
