Result-Accepted (Saskatoon - 1st choice)

Time stamp - May 13

GPA- 89.5%

MCAT- 505

Location- IP

Degree- Psych

Interview- Felt very good coming out of it with 6/6 good stations

The stats on this forum confuse me since lots with high stats don’t get in while those with lower do. Shows just how much the interview means. Don’t let your lower stats discourage you. The interview is worth a lot and can make or break your chances.

Accepted- Saskatoon Campus (first choice)

Time- 8:06am (AST)

GPA- 83-85%??

MCAT- 497

Location- IP, strong rural and Saskatchewan connection

Degree- Psychology and current master student

Interview- I felt the MMI + panel interview both could’ve gone either way, but based on my other stats, they must’ve gone well

Rejected

GPA: low 80s

MCAT: 508

Degree: BScN (2019), have been working in intensive care as an RN for the last 2 years.

Location: immigrated to Canada/Saskatoon 10 years ago.

Interview: I was mandated to work a Night Shift before my MMI (unit was really short staffed and unsafe, how could I talk about ethics after refusing to help the community?). Panel interview felt OK, but there was a bigger issue I decided I won’t be addressing/disclosing and will just move on.

This is my 2nd cycle. Considering quitting nursing and going back to my country to pursue medicine there!

Might be the lowest accepted MCAT score this admissions. Must have worked really hard in other parts of your application, congrats!

Thank you,

I hope my stats encourage others that they are so much more than what a score on piece of paper/website says.

Disclaimer: I wrote the MCAT in September of 2020 (I.e. In the first height of COVID hitting Saskatchewan.)  I’m not sure if this would have been taken into consideration. Additionally my CARS score higher, and other sections did met previous year cut off points.
