Any news from Ontario applicants who are Alberta IPs? Wishing you all the best:)))

7 days  and 12 hours until UofC forum is flooded with posts because no one is able to sleep

In at Mac, and have family in the GTA, so it wouldn't be a terrible setup...but UofC or UofA is still first choice.

I'd accept an offer at ANY Ontario school in a heartbeat. Alberta schools are okay, but Ontario schools are a different rank altogether, drastically affecting your salary as a doctor (or so I've been told

In Short: Good luck to all of you, and thank your lucky stars if you get into an Ontario school! :)

Everything Medguy says is true. Ontario-trained doctors get paid 402.7% more than Calgary trained doctors on average. SO: think of your future. Accept positions in Ontario-based schools.

Yeah, I can confirm that this is true. Go to Ontario! ;)

I also confirm all of this is true by virtue of my mod powers.

Calgary trained doctors make 250k on average while ontario trained doctors make a cool 1.25 mil. They're doing something right over there!

Will you help me move if I chose Ontario?

Congrats on Queens dude! I guess the rest of the wait must not be quite so bad now that you have a safety net?

You're the one exception: if you don't go to U of C I might wind up the only ~30yo med student with a family. Plus you're in Edmonton so I can't help you move. I'm afraid of Edmonton. I hear there are polar bears in the sewers.

Edit: Congrats Bobs too! and anyone else that got an Ontario acceptance. Great job everyone :) I'm feeling a bit less terrified for next week now that people I know are getting acceptances...

Congratulations to all of you with good new from Ontario!!!! I teared up yesterday when reading all the successful and unsuccessful (and in between) posts yesterday... I am with the rest of you guys - after hearing about the acceptances I feel less frightened but more anxious at the same time about May 13th:o

6 days and 13 hours until THAT day

I was glad I got accepted in Ontario, but surprisingly I'd rather move a couple provinces over and attend U of C. Probably due to the mountains, the faculty and students I've met (especially Dr. Walker) or the 3 year program. Regardless, best of luck to everyone :D. If I'm on the waitlist for U of C, i'll remove myself from it and help it move along

OMG, I CAN'T WAIT! This is seriously consuming me! I feel like I'm in limbo and I can't start planning the next 3-4 years of my life until next Friday.

Accepted at McMaster and Queen's? I'd be doing the limbo if I were you too...and the mambo and the samba. Good job mate; good luck at UofC too (but I selfishly hope you accept Queen's).

5 days and 15 hours

Anybody out there doesn't have UofC as their first choice? (gotta know:p )

U of A is my first choice followed by U of C. Hope that gives you a little comfort knowing that not everyone has Calgary as their number 1 choice.

I am totally thrilled - its a great feeling to know that I'll be going to med school this year SOMEWHERE! It's just going to be nice to know whether I will stay here, or if I have to move (and sell my condo, help my partner find a job, etc. etc.). Believe me, I'm not complaining! It's a great problem to have!

If I were so lucky to have an acceptance at UBC and UofC, it would be a tough choice, as I'm originally from the Vancouver area and have a lot of friends and family out there. I could see myself going for UBC, even though I like the impression I got at UofC and UofA more.

In the end, I really do feel like things could go any way on the 13th, but I have plenty of hope that I will have some good news on the big day.

5 Days! I'm not even losing sleep yet. I think 1 or 2 days before will start to cause some serious stress for me.

I feel the exact same way...would love to stay in Vancouver because it's home, but at the same time, I feel like I might get more out of UofC's program. Anyone have any input??

35 here about to do a new undergrad of being out of school for 11 years lol

Scared? Me? You betcha lol

Age ain't nothing but a number. ;) Graduating at 35 from undergrad, started at 31 and have been top of my class from first year, held down 3 jobs and ran a bunch of student groups. Think of it as having enough life experience to know what you really want and let that knowledge mativate you to kick ass and take names! Besides, unlike some of those kids, we can buy beer and XXX porn lol
