I'm not sure if this has been mentioned before, but can there be subforums for the Dental School discussions? It is the next most active discussion on the forum (next to Meds of course) and there seems to be lots of similar questions being asked. There is also an issue of being able to easily search the Dental discussions for relevant info pertaining to certain schools, because info about all 10 Canadians schools (GPA cutoffs, DAT scores, interviews, changes in requirements, etc) is all grouped in one main discussion. Navigating for dental admissions information for a particular school is a bit of a task even with the search function, because everything is compiled in the one discussion.

At the moment, we may not need 10 separate discussions for all 10 dental schools, but we could possibly at least have for example, schools separated by 4-5 main geographical regions, sort of like the med forums, with another section for DAT (there are a ton of DAT questions lately!). Probably a more senior, active, dental discussion old time member would be able to comment on this better.

I apologize if this seems like an unnecessary suggestion, it's just something that has always been on my mind while navigating the Dental pages ("I wish things were separated"). :)

Let me know if this is a crazy idea. :)

+1 to the thank you button.

And seriously we should have "read the FAQ, do a search first" in HUGE letters on the top of the furm. Questions like "what can I do if I screw up 1st year" "what life sci program will get me to med" "what schools look at 2 years" are getting asked on a weekly basis.

I often see a lot of threads in General about York, I'm wondering if they could have their own subforum.

I requested something like that for each undergrad institution afew years ago. but.. now that I think about it,

I think doing that would result in less traffic and less premeds with knowledge would be able to give help to others because it would divide everyone.

I think we will try to stay with only 1-2 York threads so there won't be a need for a sub forum.

Edit:

Something that would be cool for the premed section is a little tag before a thread gets created. the tag would be for the undergrad institution.. so the threads stay in General Premed Area but are tagged so that the undergrad institution that the person has a question for can be known and is searchable.. Would be difficult for vBulletin but would be very cool

I'd really like to be able to read my pm's.

Haven't been able to in 72+ hours.

What's going on ?

that has been down for months at this point - we have to gain access to the core system to fix it but Ian right now is unavailable. We will hopefully get access to it soon!

Oh okay.

Good to know it just isn't me.

I have a few really helpful pm's saved from members here that I'd love to access.

Hope it's sorted out soon!

Thanks

xTUNAx made the below post which resulted in closing the thread. I would have thought such vulgarity and racist tone requires deletion and also banning. What's up??

Now that the deletion is done, what about the banning?

Dear mods- please consider closing the "escort" thread and getting out that ban hammer...

And the new one from today lol. I am all for the discussion, but there is someone posting in the new thread who only recently joined and isn't really making an effort to tone it down:

i.e. "Being a whore is easier than working at McDonalds because getting paid $100 an hour to have your pussy pounded into by an old man is a lot easier than getting paid $10 an hour to perform manual labour (i.e. actual work). Were you just kidding about an "escort" being a hard job, or are you just a moron?"

Not the most pleasant thing to read. No one is really discussing the original topic anymore anyway :P it would be an interesting discussion if people didn't get so emotional.
